Biographical / Historical
John Ott was born on 3 August 1914 in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis in 1938 and served congregations in Fisher-Euclid, Minnesota and Saint Louis, Missouri. From 1948 to 1952 he served on the Western District's Young People's Literature Board. From 1957 to 1963 he was the circuit counselor. He also served as a member of the Board of Control for Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis (1967 to 1971) and as the vice-president of the Missouri District (1974 to 1976). He died on 24 September 1976.
