Biographical / Historical
Harold A. Ott was born 24 August 1907 to Adam and Emma (Zessin) Ott in Bay City, Michigan. He graduated from Concordia College, Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1928 and from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis, in 1932. He served as pastor a Cheboygan, Arcadia and Bridgman, Michigan from 1932 to 1954. In 1954 he became secretary of Latin American missions for the LCMS, serving until 1958. He returned to parish ministry in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and was a missionary at large in the greater Indianapolis area from 1968 to 1973, helping to form several congregations. He was also instrumental in the foundation of Lutheran high schools in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis. He died 16 September 2005.
