LCMS. Board for European Affairs
Dates
- Creation: 1920 - 1967
Biographical / Historical
The Commission for Inner Missions was established in the LCMS in 1879 to assist in the support and expansion of missions anywhere. In 1908 it was divided into separate commissions for inner or home missions in foreign countries and for missions in North America. The former divided into The Board for European Affairs in 1923. At the 1967 LCMS convention the decision was made to unify all mission boards under one board, the Board for Missions. This change became effective in 1969.
