Biographical / Historical
Julius Mueller (1801–78) was a mediating theologian born in Brieg (Brzeg), Silesia, Germany. He was educated at Göttingen, Breslau and Berlin. He defended the purpose of the Prussian Union but refused to use the union ritual. He served as a professor at Göttingen, Marburg and Halle. His works include "Die christliche Lehre von der Sünde."

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The volume came to CHI from the Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis) Library in January 1954. It had previously been part of the seminary library collection and bears a bookplate and an ink stamp identifying it was the property of the seminary library. No other identification of its provenance is found in the volume.
