Biographical / Historical

Wegener was born on 7 June 1892 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of Pastor G. J. Wegener and Julia nee von Witte. He attended Concordia College, New Orleans, from 1904 to 1911 and graduated from Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis, Missouri) in 1914. He was ordained at Saint Paul Lutheran Church (New Orleans) on 2 August 1914 and installed as pastor of Saint John Lutheran Church (Lake Charles, Louisiana) on 2 September 1914, where he served his entire ministry. He died on 25 July 1966 at Alexandria, Louisiana.
