Biographical / Historical
Wein was born 8 March 1896 at Herkimer, Kansas, the son of Rev. Hans and Liddy Guenther Wein. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis, in 1918 and served parishes at Shawneetown, New Melle and Shubert-Meta, Missouri, and Ferrin, Illinois. He died 31 March 1960 at Carlyle, Illinois. He was survived by his wife, Emily Twellman Wein; sons Edgar and Vernon; and daughters Emilyn and Wilma. He was buried at Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Black Jack (Florissant), Missouri.
