Biographical / Historical
Weiser (1696-1760) was a contact with Native American nations in Pennsylvania. Born in the Palatinate and brought to New York as a child, he grew up among the Mohawk. He later lived at Tulpehocken, Pennsylvania, and was involved in formulating a policy for relations between the Six Nations of the Iroquois and the Europeans settling in the area. He was also the father-in-law of Henry Melchior Muhlenberg.
