Biographical / Historical
Werning was a 1945 graduate of Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis, Missouri). He was active in stewardship and missions in the LCMS, serving as executive secretary of stewardship in the Southern Nebraska and South Wisconsin districts. He was also chair of the LCMS Board for Missions.
