Scope and Contents
Microfilm #1817 contains records of interments in the cemetery from 1887 to 1910 and single burials in February 1967 and April 1968. A copy of a plat map of the cemetery is filed in the oversize storage area.

Biographical / Historical
Western Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery was chartered by the Missouri state legislature in 1865. It was managed by an association of members of Zion and Immanuel Lutheran Churches in north Saint Louis, part of the original Saint Louis Gesamtgemeinde. Zion withdrew from the association about 1917. Immanuel relocated to a corner of the cemetery property from its earlier location near downtown Saint Louis.
