Biographical / Historical
Emil Maehr was born on 12 December 1848 in Silesia, Germany. He graduated from Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis) in 1878. From 1878 to 1893 he was pastor in Ellsworth, Kansas, while also helping to found congregations in Lincoln and Sylvan Grove. He then served parishes in Spring Valley and Saint Francis, Kansas and Fairmont, Oklahoma. He resigned from the ministry in 1912 and died on 5 January 1933.
