Biographical / Historical
George Maassel was born on 2 July 1897 in Monroe Township, Ohio. He attended both Concordia College (Fort Wayne) and Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis). He went on to serve congregations in South Dakota and Ohio. He also served as the chair of the District Board of Christian Education and as the first vice-president of the Central District. Form 1950 to 1962 he was a member of the Doctrinal Unity Committee, serving as its chair from 1958 to 1962. He died in March of 1965.
