Biographical / Historical
Robert Everett Kunz was born on 22 December 1925 in Dickenson, North Dakota. He graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois in 1952, and was called as Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove, Oregon, and later to Saint Matthew Lutheran in Washougal, Washington. After 21 years in the parish, Kunz entered the Chaplaincy, and served as Chaplain to Lutherans in hospitals of Portland-Vancouver, OR-WA, as Chaplain-Coordinator at Memorial Hospital in Vancouver, Washington, as Director of Pastoral Care in Southwest Washington Hospitals in Vancouver, WA, and as Chaplain to Hospice Southwest in Southwest Washington Hospitals. He also served as Executive Chaplain of the Northwest District. He retired from the Chaplaincy in 1990, and from his District responsibilities in 2003. He died April 28, 2017.
