Biographical / Historical

William Wismar was born on 12 March 1888 in Chicago. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis, in 1910 and was ordained at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, New Orleans, on 28 August 1910. From 1917 to 1918 he served as a chaplain. In 1921 he joined the faculty of Saint Paul College (Concordia, Missouri). He became the pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, Los Angeles, in 1926. Wismar died in 1965.
