The collection contains a volme of class notes on history and theology. It bears Wolter's signature and the date of 1842. It is likely that he used this volume in his teaching days in Fort Wayne.

Biographical / Historical
C. L. August Wolter was born in Hamburg on 29 August 1818. He was sent to America in 1846 with C. J. H. Fick and A. G. G. Francke by J. K. Wilhelm Löhe shortly after the founding of the practical seminary at Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a professor in the school there for three years before he died of cholera on 31 August 1849. He was noted for his humility, clarity of thought, friendliness and zeal for confessional Lutheranism. [Information from Christian Cyclopedia online]
