Biographical / Historical

Harold George Woodworth was born 28 April 1933 at Brown Deer, Wisconsin. He attended Saint John College (Winfield, Kansas), and Concordia Theological Seminary (Springfield, Illinois), graduating in 1958. He served as pastor of Saint Matthew Lutheran Church (New Orleans, Louisiana); Concordia Lutheran Church (Birmingham, Alabama); and Zion Lutheran Church (Colby, Wisconsin). In 1965 he was called to active duty as a chaplain in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. In 1968 he took a call as pastor of Salem Lutheran Church (Jacksonville, Illinois), and later served Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, a mission started by Salem, and in retirement at Saint John Lutheran Church (Hattiesburg, Mississippi).
