Biographical / Historical
Martin Kretzmann was born on 30 December 1878 in Dudleytown, Indiana. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis in 1901 and held parishes in Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. From 1918 to 1920 he served the Central District as secretary. He then served as secretary for the Synod from 1920 to 1956. And from 1956 to 1959 he was a member of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Board of Directors. He died on 4 January 1963.
