Biographical / Historical
Wunder was born 12 March 1830 in Muggendorf, Bavaria. He was sent by Wilhelm Loehe to the Fort Wayne seminary in August 1846 and was sent in 1848 to Altenburg, Missouri, where he graduated from the log cabin college in Perry County, Missouri, in 1849. He served as pastor of First Saint Paul Lutheran Church (Chicago, Illinois) for 62 years. He died in 1913.
