Biographical / Historical

William Koepchen was born on 13 March 1864 in Chicago. He attended Concordia College, Fort Wayne from 1878 to 1885 and graduated from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis in 1888. From 1890 to 1900 he served as pastor at Saint John in Meriden, Connecticut and from 1900 to 1936 at Saint Luke in New York City. He was also a member of the Board of Control of Concordia Historical Institute and the Church Extension Board of the Atlantic District for many years. He died suddenly on 8 September 1936.
