Biographical / Historical

Eugene Klug was born in Milwaukee on 26 November 1917. He graduated from Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis in 1942, received an M.A. from the University of Chicago, and the Doctor of Theology from the Free University of Amsterdam in 1971. He served as a U.S. Navy chaplain in World War 2, as campus pastor at Calvary Lutheran University Church in Madison, Wisconsin, and as pastor in Kalispell, Montana. He taught at the University of Illinois from 1955-1960, and at Concordia Theological Seminary (at Springfield, Illinois and later in Fort Wayne, Indiana) from 1960 until his retirement in 1987. He died on 20 May 2003.
