Scope and Contents
The collection contains the manuscript of an article he wrote for The Lutheran Witness and a letter of 18 November 1945 from Munich, Germany, to Rev. Alfred Doerffler describing post-war Germany, the Lutheran Church in Germany, and the Polish Lutheran Church in Exile in London.

Biographical / Historical
Alvin A. Katt was born 9 September 1907 at Rutland, South Dakota. He graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in 1930 and served parishes in South Dakota and Nebraska. From 1935 through the 1960s he was a military chaplain, serving on active duty during World War 2 and in post-war Europe. He retired in 1972 and died on 8 January 1988 in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he had retired.
