Biographical / Historical
Paul Friderick Hartmann was born on 13 November 1909 in Sigel, Illinois. After graduating from Concordia College in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Hartmann enrolled in Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis. He graduated from the Seminary in 1933, but was not ordained until 1936 due to the Depression. He was ordained at Our Redeemer in Golconda, Illinois. He served congregations in Carlyle and Dwight, Illinois, as well as a Lutheran Chaplain at the Pontiac prison and Dwight Reformatory. He retired in 1977, and died on 15 March 1994.
