Biographical / Historical
Edwin William Hahn was born on 14 July 1909 in Elkart, Illinois. He attended Concordia College in Fort Wayne, Indiana before entering Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis in 1930. He graduated from the Seminary in 1934. Because of the Great Depression, Hahn was not ordained until the following December, when he received a call to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eureka, Illinois. In 1936, this parish joined with Trinity Lutheran Church in Roanoke, Illinois to become a dual parish. Hahn later served as pastor at Saint John in Quincy, Illinois, and Trinity Lutheran in Urbana, Illinois, where he served until his retirement in 1974. Edwin Hahn died on 1 November 1998.
