Biographical / Historical
Gustav C. Haase was born 28 January 1879 (Cleveland, Wisconsin), the son of Pastor Julius and Anna (Popp) Haase. He graduated from the Evangelical Lutheran Seminary (Wauwatosa, Wisconsin) in 1900 and served Wisconsin Synod parishes in Kingston and Stillwater, Wisconsin; Mansfield, Washington; Waterloo, Michigan; and Monticello, Minnesota. From 1944 to 1951 he was pastor of the Missouri Synod congregation in Mendota, Minnesota. He was the author of The History of the Minnesota Synod (1905). He died 29 April 1967 at Saint Paul, Minnesota.
