Biographical / Historical
Gottlieb Haar was born on 14 February 1849 in Stuttgart, Germany. At the age of twenty he came to America and entered Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis, from which he graduated in 1872. He was called as traveling missionary (possible reiseprediger) to the western counties of Iowa. He served in pastorates in Denison from 1872 to 1882, Grant Township, Ida County from 1882 to 1895, Luverne from 1895 to 1905, and Adair from 1905 to 1918, when he retired. He died on 20 September 1930.
