Biographical / Historical
An early congregation was started in 1873 at Neu-Braunschweig, also known as De Camp. A new building site was being considered for this early congregation, but because of disagreements over the location, the majority of members separated from the early church and organized Immanuel in 1899. A new church building was erected 4 miles south of Staunton, along with a school. The congregation joined the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod that same year.
