Biographical / Historical
The history of Immanuel Lutheran Church (Lima, Ohio) begins with a mission effort of Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church (Wapakoneta) in 1901. German services were first held in the home of John L. Sammetinger, who became a charter member of the congregation. The first resident pastor, Richard B. W. Brenner, was ordained and installed in August 1902. The congregation was formally organized on 22 January 1911.
