Scope and Contents
Congregational Record Books, Minutes, Official Acts, A printed volume entitled "Surely the Lord is in this Place" which includes Official acts from 1870-2008 is located in the Geographic Section of the Library. The 1849-1870 records of members of Zion, Cole County, MO, who were initial members of Immanuel were copied into Book I. Scans on a CD and DVD were moved to the CHI Media Collection. Translated, transcribed records were moved to geographic collection.

Biographical / Historical
Church-work was started in 1868 by Rev. C. Thurow. The congregation was organized in 1870 and joined the LCMS in 1888 under Rev. M. Holls. The parochial school was started in 1868. The church was located 10 miles South of Jefferson City in the community of Honey Creek.
