Biographical / Historical

Alfred Fuerbringer was born on 11 August 1903 in St. Louis. After attending Concordia College, Ft. Wayne, he graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in 1925 and received his S.T.M. in 1927. From 1922 to 1923 he was an instructor at Concordia College, Oakland. He served as pastor in Norman (1927 to 1934) and Okmulgee (1934 to 1937), Oklahoma and at St. Paul's in Leavenworth, Kansas (1937 to 1941). He was the president of Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska from 1941 to 1953, when he accepted a call to the presidency of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, from which he retired in 1969.
