Physical Description
This is a white Meissen porcelain medal (47mm diameter). The obverse has a stylized image of a castle turret and the legend: "MARTIN LVTHER - EHRUNG 1983 - DER DEUTSCHEN DEMOKRATISCHEN REPUBLIK". The Meissen symbol of crossed swords is at the bottom. The reverse shows the Melanchthon Museum with the bannered legend below: "HEIMATMUSEUM". On either side of the museum is the dates: "1560 1960". The lower legend reads: "Melanchthonhaus Lutherstadt Wittenberg" over the Meissen symbol.
