- MAR 2016 #7: This is a 14k (22g) gold medal. The reverse has a portrait of Martin Luther (left) in monk's habit and tonsure. There is a thundercloud with lightning on the left with Luther's Rose below. The lower legend reads: "American Lutheran Publicity Bureau - 2011". The surrounding legend reads: "Countdown to the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation | Martin Luther". The obverse shows Martin Luther kneeling in a thunderstorm with lightning next to a tree. The surrounding legend reads: "Martin Luther Vows to Become a Monk - 1505".
