Physical Description

(51-12-MSS-14 a-m) These are parts of silver spoons used by the Stoeckhardt and Sommer families.

  • a is the only complete spoon which is 4 15/16" long, with ornate handle; "STERLING" and two birds flanking an escutcheon with an "M" on it; oval spoon head with an "R" engraved on it. This one is missing.
  • b is a spoon head with part of an ornate handle; "D:", "STERLING", "MERMOD and JACCARD".
  • c is identical to b.
  • d spoon head, (egg-shaped), 1 7/8" x 1 1/8".
  • e is egg-shaped spoon head, 2" x 1 1/4".
  • f is a spoon head with part of a handle: "R.W. and S. STERLI...".
  • g is identical to f.
  • h is an ornate spoon handle (with "S" inscribd near the top) 3 1/4" long: "STERLING", "MERMOD and JACCARD".
  • i is an ornate spoon handle (with "S" near top) 3 5/8" long; "STERLING".
  • j is part of an ornate handle (with "S" near top) 2 9/16" long.
  • k is identical to j.
  • l is part of an ornate handle (with "S" near top) 1 7/8" long.
  • m is identical to l.
