Accession #: AUG 2022 #31. The obverse has a gold outer rim, a red line drawing of the congregation and the following text
- First United Presbyterian Church
- Liverpool, New York
- 1829-1979
- Organized November 9, 1829, five months before incorporation of Liverpool
- This beautiful brick structure, designed by Horatio N. White, stands on the site of the original wooden edifice built in 1841 by James Johnson, for whom a Liverpool park is named.
- When a storm blew off the steeple, a new church was constructed, and dedicated March 6, 1863. A church school wing was added in 1955.
- The tower houses and 1862 bell and a four-faced clock which was Liverpool's official clock for many years.
