This collection is primarily the sermons of C. F. Walther and Karl Wilhelm Friedrich. There are also some items relating to Johannes G. Walther and Adolph Heinrich Walther (geb. 2 Juli 1728).

Biographical / Historical

Karl Wilhelm Friedrich was born May 10, 1839 in Germany. At 26 he attended the pre-seminary in Steedon under Rev. Brunn. He then matriculated to the practical seminary in Saint Louis (at that time.) In 1868 Rev. Friedrich was called from the practical seminary to Steele County, Minnesota where he served for three years. He then accepted a call to the Lutheran congregation in Waconia, Minnesota where he served the remainder of his pastorate. He served as Circuit Counselor, the district Vice-President, and oversaw mission activities in North Dakota. He died September 22, 1911.
