Before 1869 members of Old Trinity at Saint Louis, jointly and severally had done volunteer service in the way of supplying a periodical and books, having published DER LUTHERANER as early as 1844, a German edition of the BIBLE about 1845, and a German HYMN-BOOK in 1847.
