Biographical / Historical
Zion Lutheran Church, formerly Zion Lithuanian Lutheran Church, was founded by Lithuanian Lutherans who desired to hear the Gospel of Christ in their own language.
Although Lithuanian Services have been held in Chicago since 1903, it was not until December 10, 1910 when this Congregation was founded and served by the visiting Pastor M. Keturaket of Collinsville, Ill. The membership of this Congregation began to gain when it got its own Pastor. In June 1911, Rev. J. J. D. Razokas took charge of this congregation. He wrote its Constitution and was its minister until January 15, 1921, when it pleased the Lord to take His servant from the church militant to the church triumphant.
