Biographical / Historical
Church work was begun in 1870, and the congregation was organized in the same year. St. John's joined the Synod in 1873. The original location was in Iron Mountain. In 1897 the church building was moved to Bismarck, 5 miles north of its original location. A school existed until 1908 but no school building was built. There was also a parsonage.
