Scope and Contents This is a theological diploma given to Calvin P. Thompson by Luther College (New Orleans, Louisiana). As he was the only theological graduate of the short-lived institution, this is the only diploma of its kind. In lettering and design it is very ornate. It is dated June 27, 1910, and signed by F. Diploma given to Rev. Calvin P. Thompson by the Practical Department of Luther College (New Orleans, Louisiana) dated 6/29/1905 and signed by F. C. Lankenau, Principal, and E. H. Heintzen, Secretary. In the lower left corner it bears a copper-colored metalic seal and remnants of a yellow ribbon. It is badly folded at top and bottom, water-stained, and yellowed by age. Apparently the item was once stapled to a piece of corrugated cardboard and framed.
