Knob. KFUO (Porcelain)
(MAY 2013 #2 M95; MAY 2013 #2 M96) These are two brown porcelain knobs (2½” diameter x 3” long) with a bolt at the bottom. The word “PIERCE” is embossed on one side and there is an “H” inside a shield on the other. These have a hole from front to back through which wire would pass and one has a cork disc around the bolt.

Meter. KFUO (Jewel Electrical)
This is a direct current milliamperes meter by Jewel Electrical Instrument Co. (3 7/8” diameter x 2½” deep) with a black metal face and side, a black plastic back, “41844” inscribed on the face, and two screw terminals on the back with a wire between them. The box is original.
Microphone. KFUO, 1930
This is a microphone (6½”) on a 5¼” diameter base. It is colored antique bronze. The front shows “KFUO” and the back is etched “BACK”. There is no cord and an attached label dates this as 1922-1935.
Microphone. KFUO (Condenser), 1930
This is a condenser microphone in a metal box about 4½” x 4½” x 4½” painted silver. The front has a screw terminal at the top and a black metal plate recepticle in the center. It is etched with “WESTERN ELECTRIC | MADE IN USA” at the bottom. The back has a 2 7/8” diameter speaker covered with a screen with an outer legend of: “MADE IN USA | 1333744 | PATENT 1456538 PAT PEND | 1611870 | WESTERN ELECTRIC 394”. An included KFUO card dates this to about 1930.

This is an RCA microphone on an 8”-diameter base (13½” long) with “KFUO” at the top. This has an attached cord with a 3-prong circular plug.

This is an RCA ribbon microphone (12½” long) including a swivel and tilt section that would be attached to a stand. The wire has been cut.
Microphone. KFUO (Western Electric), 1930 - 1949
This is a grey “saltshaker” microphone that is cylindrical (3½” tall x 2" diameter) plus a tilting link that would screw on to a base. There are the remnants of a KFUO label. And it is etched with: “WESTERN ELECTRIC | USA 633A” on the bottom of the cylinder. KFUO card #42 included with the deposit states that this style was popular in the 1930s and 1940s.
