Scope and Contents

These slides were labeled "Wittenberg" and "Primary lessons at Manjorie[?]". They are located in slide container 4 and show scenes from Wittenberg, Germany, a few very dark slides that are hard to distinguish, plus slides that appear to be providing information about mission work and teaching materials in Mexico. The slides are undated but the subject in some of them incidate they are from around 1981.

Scope and Contents These slides include a title slide which reads "MEETING CHRIST | IN MEXICO | A Hearts for Jesus Project 1972 | in the interest of | Lutheran Baja California Mission". They are numbered from 2 to 84. Slides that appears to be from the same set came to the collection in a separate box labeled "Hearts for Jesus in Mexico - 1972" and "SEC lecture incomplete". These are numbered 1, 23, 72, 81 and 85 to 89, suggesting they were removed from the rest of the presentation at some stage. The separated...

These hand-numbered slides were labeled "Lecture - Mex - LBCM" and are now located in slide container 5. Scenes include a USA entry sign, a map of Mexico, landscapes, churches and groups of people.

These mostly hand-numbered slides show images of a church in Mexicali (Iglesia Evangelica Luterana San Juan), classrooms, LBCM meetings and a special dedication event. They are located in slide container 5. A handwritten index page included with the slides providess some context and also indicates about ten slides are missing from the original set. A few slides of the church are not numbered and appear to have been added later. The index page is stored in a folder nearby.

These slides came to the collection in an envelope labeled "Annual Meeting | 1976 | Faith Luth. Church | Capistrano Beach" and are located in slide container 5. Handwritten notes on the slide frames indicate some of the people present at the meeting. Although not stated explicitly, it appears the meeting is of the LBCM and related to work in Mexico.

These slides were in boxes labeled:

Numbering present on most of the slides indicate they have been used in formal presentations and that there were several copies of presentations in use. Duplicate slides in the second two boxes have been discarded. This grouping is now located in slide container 5.

These slides came to the collection in a box labeled "Mexico - Indian area & | Mex City - Yinguin[?] | & Durardi[?] | bull fight" and are now located in slide container 26. The places referenced in the notes include: Taxco, Pátzcuaro, San José, Xochimilco, Morelia, Cholula, Iztaccihuatl and Popocatépetl with some bull fighting scenes at the end of the grouping. Many of the slides have handwritten notes on the frame.

These slides were labeled "Slide removed from main al[?] presentation Tj" and "TIJUANA" is handwritten on one of the slides. These are now located in slide container 5. The subjects of these slides are also present in the grouping "Miscellaneous LBCM slides" but it is unclear why the Tijuana grouping was created.

This set of slides was labeled "SEC personnel" which is likely to refer to "Servicio Educativo Cristiano" [Christian Educational Service], the literature arm of Lutheran Border Concerns Ministry (LBCM). The slides show various people at work. This grouping is now located in slide container 5.
