Box Gussick ARTIF02

(APR 2019 #20 M28) The ceramic pieces, mostly of fruit, range in size from 1cm to 4cm long. A small piece of sugarcane [?] is labeled: "ELSALVADOR•CA". There are 5 baskets and containers ranging in diameter from 3.7 to 7 cm.

Information on the box indicates these items came from either Guatemala or Panama via Mary Gussick-Lohrbach.

(APR 2019 #20 M32) This set comprises of pieces to assemble five ox carts. Three of them are red and measure 28, 26,2 and 17 cm respectively. The two black ox carts are 16.8 cm long. Three pairs of yoked oxen are included. All the carts are decorated with colorful designs and four are labelled with "Costa Rica".

(APR 2019 #20 M41) This female figure is 18.5 cm high and made of cloth and wood. She is wearing a pink dress with white lace trim and a green sash with stitching that reads "EL SALVADOR". Two packages are balanced on her head

(APR 2019 #20 M42) Both figures are 14.5 cm high. The male is wearing grey and white check trousers, a yellow shirt and a red neckerchief. He is carrying a pair of satchels over his shoulders and is wearing a wide brimmed straw hat. The female figure is wearing a yellow skirt with colored stripes and a cream blouse and apron. She has green ribbons in her hair.

(APR 2019 #20 M43) This figure is 23 cm tall and stands on wooden base. She is wearing a cream and blue skirt with red decorations, a pink blouse, a red shawl and a white hat. The figure is carrying a pink basket. A label is attached which reads "WOMAN FROM PERU" and a stamp under the base reads: "INDUSTRIA PERUAMA".

(APR 2019 #20 M44) This figure is 11 cm high and is wearing a black skirt, blue cape, blue shoes and a grey hat. She is carrying a yellow blanket over one arm and a baby on her back. An attached label reads "WOMAN AND BABY FROM ECUADOR". A label under the base reads "INDUSTRIAS AKIOS | AKIOS INDUSTRIES | Native Handicraft | Hand Made in Ecuador | Quito POB 219"

(APR 2019 #20 M46) Three of the whistles are decorated with a green glaze. The tallest of these is 4cm and is a type of bird, and the other two are little animals with ears. The fourth piece is an owl standing at 3.5 cm high, and painted brown and yellow with black and white striped markings.

(APR 2019 #20 M47) One vase is 5cm high and 5 cm across and is decorated with a green and terracotta glaze. The other piece is 4 cm high and 6 cm across. It is bright green with some red and white decorative markings.

(APR 2019 #20 M48) The rug measures 10.5 by 5 cm and is white with colored stripes. The hat is white with aqua trim with a diameter of 5 cm. The lettering on the hat reads "LBCM".
