Biographical / Historical
The committee was appointed by President John W. Behnken in 1944 in response to a request from the synodical convention of that year. Its primary purpose was to determine which Spanish translation of the Bible should be used in Missouri Synod Spanish mission work. The held its first meeting on 24 May 1945. Theodore Graebner was the chairman; John Theodore Mueller was secretary; and A. W. Reese and T. W. Strieter were the other members of the committee.
